Formula 1 live Practice(P1) Updates

Good evening all! Now I well know that leading up to this weekend, much of Oppo and Jalopnik will be full of Formula 1 articles and the like, but I will strive to continue what I started with the Formula 1 testing in both Bahrain and Jerez. Live updates for all those that don't have access to live streams or on TV. I do it all for you lovely individuals! Stay tuned here for live updates starting at 8:30CST today! Hooray F1 is back!!! And this is going to be a helluva year. For those that are completely oblivious to why this is going to be a crazy year. This year is going to be good people. We will most likely have a new F1 World Champion, and a new Constructors Champion. Not only that, but teams that haven't been all that competitive of late are showing real progress and the possibility that they will be dicing it up in front with our front runners! It's going to be great and I cannot wait!

Update 1: For comparison, last season's fastest P1 lap time was a 1:27.2. I doubt anyone will manage that since most of the tems have been tweeting that this first practice will be much like testing since they all have new updates for the cars and software, so figure a bunch of installation laps.

Update 2 : For those that didn't hear Mercedes will not be able to run their new front wing due to crash test failure. Meanwhile this completely screws up my fantasy picks for this race!

Update 4 : Magnussen hopping in now!

Update 5 : It begins

Magnussen, Button, Hamilton, Massa, and Bianchi, Sutil and Kobayashi on track. RedBull still in pits

Update 6 : Hamilton's car has stopped on track and he is getting out of the car! Shit my fantasy race is screwed!

Update 7 : Vettels car is still apart in the garage, Alonso and Raikkonen still in garage also.

Update 8 : Raikkonen preparing to head out.

Update 9 : The Torro Rosso, RedBull's secondary team has already managed to string a few installation laps together while the Infiniti team still remains in the garage

Update 10 : Mercedes has confirmed through their Twitter that the ICE(internal combustion engine) will need to be replaced but won't affect their allocated 5 units for this season.

Update 11 : Ricciardo is out on track and completes a first timed lap with a 1:37.2

Update 12 : Magnussen goes 1:37.7

Update 13 : Ricciardo goes 1:35.0, Magnussen goes 1:36.6, Rosberg 1:37.2, Vergne 1:38.1, Button 1:38.4

Update 14 : Ricciardo 1:34.6, Alonso 1:47.4

Update 15 : Rosberg goes 1:32. 4 as Hulkenberg comes out on track

Update 16 : These new cars sound very interesting in compared with the old turbo cars

Update 17 : Alonso goes 1:32. 5

Update 18 : Bottas going back into the garage

Update 19 : Alonso now back into the garage

Update 20 : Massa heading back out on the track

Update 21: Still no sign of Vettel or Raikkonen.

Update 22 : Button jumps to 3rd with a 1:32.8 only 3tenths of a second off Alonso

Update 23 : Massa stuck in garage for faulty radio

Update 24 : According to Will Buxton, Massa and Williams are all smiles and feeling good about their chances. Also Buttons car sounds great!

Update 25 : Button goes quickest with a 1:32.3!

Update 26 : Ricciardo takes 3rd with a 1:32.5

Update 27 : Massa's radio fixed and hedging back out according to their Twitter

Update 28 : Vettel finally heading out!

Update 29 : Kvyat heads off track for some rallying as Vettel brings it back to the garage

Update 30 : Mercedes now says it was a sensor failure not an engine failure

Update 31 : Alonso goes fastest with 1:31.8, also personally these cars look like they are super leary, the drivers will definitely be the heros this season. Not much downforce, lots of torque, this ,ought actually be a proper drivers championship this season.

Update 32 : Vettel back on track and has the green light for 5 timed laps

Update 33 : Vettel puts in a 1:32.9 placing him in 8th

Update 34 : Maldonado finally heading out on track for the first time with only 20 minutes left

Update 35 : Vettel pits

Update 36 : Pirelli confirms that no team has run the SuperSofts yet, only the Mediums

Update 37 : Perez believes he's a drifter for a second and slides the last corner getting great angle!

Update 38 : Every Jalops favorite eccentric mumbler goes 1:33.3 good for 9th

Update 39 : Maldonado goes off track rallying hard into the gravel and dirt, Lotus is not doing well at all, also possibly on fire!

Update 40 : Vettels car is now on fire

Update 41 : Vergne goes rallying now, when did this turn into WRC?

Update 42 : And the Checkered flag drops on this first practice.

Got the TV set to the F1 now. We just had race 1 of the V8 Supercars.

Could I ask for spoilers after the break for quali and race? Yes, I should just stay away from Oppo/Jalopnik.com if I don't want to be spoiled, and the world doesn't end if I get spoiled. Going to watch PM in a bit though!

I just caught a glimpse of an interestingly shaped brake duct on the Lotus E22.
It's like a ductless brake duct that both Ferrari and Sauber are running, but the vertical vane of carbon fiber is curved where the regular duct should be
